Dr. Blake Fernandez practices as an Emergency Medicine physician. He is certified in ATLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and is the Medical Director for Channelside Health and Wellness. Before his role at Channelside, Dr. Fernandez did his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in Biochemistry and completed medical school at the Universidad Central del Este, DR. He completed 2 years of General Surgery at the University of South Florida and completed his Family Medicine at Unity Health in Searcy, AK. He has worked as an Emergency Medicine physician both in Arkansas and at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, FL.
One of nine children, Dr. Fernandez was born into a medical family, with his mother working as a nurse and his father as a general and bariatric surgeon. Spending his childhood in medical offices and hospital physician lounges, Dr. Fernandez was always drawn to medicine and, particularly, to educating patients and helping them achieve their health and wellness goals. Dr. Fernandez shares Channelside’s mission to promote healthier lives through prevention, education, and optimization.
Outside of work, Dr. Fernandez is an avid outdoorsman, traveler, and voracious reader who loves spending time with his family.
